HUNT BUCK - NUCLEAR DEFENCE =========================== In this game you are taking control over Agent Hunt Buck, an agent that can be hired, and you have been hired to investigate a case of strange animal attacks. It turns out that it is your long-time enemy Professor Rekless that is behind this. The professor has established a gigantic base hidden in a forest where he is making all kind of horrible experiments on animals. You have to stop the professor and the game begins with you arriving to the base in the forest in your car. The first thing you notice is that the door to the base is locked and an access card is needed, so you have to explore the underground and basement facilities first, which you can enter from a ladder going into the ground. When you enter the underground you will meet a lot of mutated animals, some of these can be avoided and some it will be necessary to kill. You have to save your bullets when possible because if you shoot at everything that moves you will run out of ammunition. What you are looking for is an access card and when you have found this you can climb back to the surface and use the card to enter the base. Once inside the base you have to locate the professor’s hideout and deal with him. When entering the base there will be a lot of bad guys that will shoot at you, and when you kill these it will be possible to collect their ammunition, so there is plenty of ammo when you get this far. There has been put a huge effort into the details and animations on everything that moves in this game, everything looks really stunning. It looks great when you or the enemies are shooting, and you will get different reactions from the animals and people you shoot at, some of the animals will attack you. When you are climbing down a ladder you can hold down fire button to slide. What makes this game a bit different to other games is that the underground complex and the base is made to look like a realistic environment, which means that you are running around in a really huge play area with many, many places where you don’t need to go – Just like if you was on this mission for real! I think there is x3 or x4 more screens than showed in this video. A cool and nice looking game made with highly detailed and well animated sprites and a huge realistic playing area. It is a shame there is some minor color clash problems here and there, especially in the beginning when walking on the grass. The border effect at the start menu is only timed for Pentagon machines, so it does not look correct on a standard ZX Spectrum. The menu is in English but the intro and in game text is in Russian, it would have been nice if you could choose between Russian and English, and an AY in game soundtrack for this 128k game would also have added a lot to the atmosphere in this game. The game was made by Red Triangle in 2019. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgJvyBcU5Lk
